Intelsat picks Airbus OneSat platform for 2 new satellites

Airbus announced a contract for two telecom satellites with its long-standing partner Intelsat, saying that they will be completed in 2023. The satellites will be based on Airbus’ OneSat product range, which was developed to deliver greater flexibility and a significant reduction on costs of ownership. In particular, the OneSat platform enables the reconfiguration of satellites while in orbit, including adjustments to the coverage area, capacity and frequency.
